Digital Printing & Sign Making
Our easy-to-use product guides offer a detailed overview of the products range including measurements, pricing, order information and much more.
The user friendly design of the control panel is very straightforward and reduces the learning curve significantly. It is so intuitive to use that a new operator can be up and running proficiently within minutes. To increase operator productivity and system throughput, a secondary control panel is located on the end of the flatbed table for quick and easy rigid material loading and system maintenance.
The Gerber Solara ionx is built on a robust flatbed platform that provides the best possible foundation. When printing rigid materials, the vacuum table provides the ultimate in stability while a gantry moves the print heads over the substrate during printing. This eliminates alignment errors that occur when moving rigid substrates through a printer.
The Gerber Solara ionx is easily the most versatile printer in the world. The true flatbed and true roll-to-roll printer functionality; supporting the widest array of applications and material diversity makes it the printer of choice for any sign making or digital graphic printing environment.
Simply put, GerberCAT™ inks provide the color and Gerber’s patent-pending Cold Fire Cure™ technology is what successfully adheres that color to a range of materials far beyond that of conventional inkjet printers. Together this system provides features in inkjet curing that are nothing less than revolutionary and far superior to any other ultraviolet curing process available.
GerberCAT™ cationic inks The new and exclusive GerberCAT™ cationic UV-inks cure completely through using newly developed low-energy lamps. This process (called Cold Fire Cure™) generates very little heat; GerberCAT™ inks cure at approximately room temperature.
GerberCAT™ inks cure into a strong, yet flexible mechanical bond that is immediately usable (unlike solvent inks that create a chemical bond by eroding the surface of the substrate).
This means that heat sensitive plastics, vinyl, fabrics, and even paper based materials can be printed with GerberCAT™ inks without any concern for ink adhesion or material damage. In addition, GerberCAT™ inks offer an outdoor-durable life span of up to three years. GerberCAT™ inks provide unmatched adhesion on the widest range of materials, even on difficult surfaces such as glass and textiles.
Gerber has developed a genuine print-and-apply process for vehicle applications which allows application immediately after printing. The ultra-flexible GerberCAT™ bond allows the Gerber Solara ion™ to support an extensive range of three-dimensional applications.
Cold Fire Cure™ technology The unique Cold Fire Cure™ UV curing process uses low energy and low temperatures to cure the proprietary GerberCAT™ UV inks, which expands the range of materials that can be printed. Heat sensitive plastic, vinyl, fabric, and paper based materials can be printed using Cold Fire Cure™ and GerberCAT™ inks without concern for ink adhesion or material damage.
Cold Fire Cure™ employs specialized UV lamps that run the full length of the gantry (approximately 165cm) to provide a very specific wavelength of UV light which cures the GerberCAT inks. The UV lamps do not require a burn-in period which means that there are no striking delays and its low operating temperature results in short warm-up cycles.
The combination of Cold Fire Cure™ and GerberCAT™ makes the Gerber Solara ionx one of the most versatile printers in the world. The versatility of the Solara ion opens the door to a huge set of applications such as real estate signage, POP, vehicle applications, backlit, traffic signage, exhibit display, banners and textiles all through one printing system.
Gerber’s patent-pending Cold Fire Cure™ system provides features in ink jet curing that are nothing less than revolutionary. Cold Fire Cure™ offers a vast array of benefits over any competitive curing process in the areas of material compatibility, cost of operation, and environmental, health and safety.
