Spandex is fully aware of its environmental responsibilities and is committed to developing a sustainable plan to meet these responsibilities whilst continuing to deliver best in class products and services to the UK sign and graphics market.
The following is a summary of actions already taken:
Currently ISO 9001 accredited with a review of steps needed for associated environmental standard ISO 14001.
Electronic invoice option available to customers.
EDI (paperless) ordering with key suppliers.
Review by Carbon Trust of Spandex vehicle fleet to improve fuel efficiency.
Stocking of re-fills for Gerber Edge F/X print foils.
Registered with the Environment Agency for the safe disposal of waste inks and cartridges.
95% recycling of plastic end bungs used in material packaging.
95% recycling of wooden pallets.
100% recycling of cardboard.
Waste vinyl donated to the Children’s Scrap Store.
On going program to reduce volume of product packaging used.
Recycling of paper, bottles and cans in Spandex office.
