Hot Laminating
Hot lamination films have no release liner. The adhesive is activated by heat, and applied by pressure ensuring a smooth and flat finish.
Hot lamination is not suitable for typical sign applications, as the high temperatures melt or stretch the vinyl and make the ink “gas” or bubble. Hot lamination is ideal for water based or screen- and offset-printed posters, leaflets, maps, wide photographs and more.
Hot roller laminators heat up both rollers to temperatures in excess of 100 °C when applying the film.
Hot lamination films are less expensive
Hot roll laminators are significantly more expensive not suitable for vinyl and solvent or oil based prints
Can also be used for cold lamination
