This range of special effects (GCX) foils include high opacity white (Flood Coat) and black (Jet Black) foils, fluorescent indoor-use foils, and two new accent foils: SpectraTint and SpectaShade.

EDGE owners can use this foil series with its high density colours, vibrant colours and tint/shade accent colours to achieve high level graphic output that is just not possible with a traditional inkjet printer.

PRINTING

Flood Coat White
This foil has been designed primarily for flood coating reverse-printed graphics onto clear films. In this manner EDGE owners should apply the foil as the final overprint colour on top of other printed colours. Flood Coat White should be applied in full printing width and not applied as shapes or text of any size.
Flood Coat White is compatible as the overlayer in overprint combinations with the following GerberColor Series: GerberColor Spot (GCS), GerberColor Process (GCP), and GerberColor Transparent (GCT) Series foils.

Jet Black
This foil is intended for use in the production of any graphics requiring high density black outs. In addition, this foil can be used for reverse-print and second-surface applications.
Halftone blends and fades are not recommended applications for jet black foil. Jet black is compatible with all edge ready materials but not recommended for creating Gerbercolor Spectratone™ matches. Jet black is compatible as the overlayer in overprint combinations with the following Gerbercolor series: Gerbercolor Spot (gcs), Gerbercolor Process (gcp) Super cmyk™, and Gerbercolor Transparent (gct).

Fluorescent Foils
GCX Fluorescent Foils are intended for use in the production of any interior graphics requiring high visibility even in low-light conditions. In addition, GCX Foils can be used for reverse-print, interior second-surface applications. (In reverse-print applications, GCX Foils can be backed with an appropriate GCS, GCT, or GCP Foil.)
GCX foils are also compatible as the underlayer in overprint combinations with the following GerberColor Series: GerberColor Spot (GCS), GerberColor Process (GCP) SUPER CMYK™, GerberColor Transparent (GCT), and GerberColor Finishing (GCF).

SpectraTint and SpectraShade
two new foils designed to modify the appearance of the base colour foils with solid fill printing, not with halftones.

Use SpectraTint on top of a base colour to produce tinted highlights without gradients. SpectraTint has the effect of lightening or softening the base colour much in the same way tints are used in screen
printing to lighten ink colours.

Use SpectraShade on top of a base colour to darken that color without
gradients. SpectraShade has the effect of shading the base
colour to darken its tone.
